Artist & Graphic Designer
Dear Diary,

What an amazing day! The sun was shining so I was able to get out in The Studio and do some poured nail varnish kindness rocks. I experimented with techniques today, and came up with some really awesome pattern creation! Check out the new photos I put up in my Drawings & Paintings page to see what I'm going on about. I am very excited to play around some more to see what else I can come up with!
I also had the opportunity to deliver a trunk load of donated items to the Sacred Heart Shelter for Bee Kind Donation Foundation. I was able to contribute twelve crocheted beanies this week. I'm actually at the point of purchasing yarn again! Which isn't necessarily a good thing...however, if I consider that it's really a form of therapy for me, I can justify the expense, correct? ;)

Well, dear web surfer, I sincerely hope you are happy and healthy! May you be free, may you find peace, may you know grace.

Wahoo! It's another snow day! I got out and tromped through the woods a couple times yesterday, really wishing we still had the Skled (a sled my father constructed from plywood and his old skis) so I could join in the fun on the middle school hill. But, alas, the Skled is no more, and seeing as how I struggled to get up from my poor mangled snow angel attempt, it's probably for the best that I'm not hurtling down a hill at the speeds the Skled was capable of achieving...still, it would have been fun!

On the fiber arts front, this week I constructed a head wrap that buttons at the back of the neck-see my selfie on the left. It is wonderfully warm and keeps my ears fully covered and toasty! I have been frustrated by both my headbands (they creep up and expose the bottom portion of my ears) and hats (to fully cover my ears, I have to pull them down too far on my forehead for comfort), so I'm working on crocheting ear coverings that fit just right (sheesh, I sound like the Goldilocks of ear coverings!). Just another yarn stash busting project!

It's been too cold in The Studio to be outside painting, so I've been playing with color by crocheting hats for donation, rather than painting. I'm excited to get back to painting stones, however! I think I will do a series of various types of frogs and toads to leave in the elementary school rock garden (their mascot is a frog). Come summertime, I'll be working on improving my dahlia-painting technique!

Have a wonderful week, dear web surfer! I fully intend to enjoy mine!

I've been spending a ton of time outside this week! The incessant rain stopped during daylight hours (for the most part) so I spent as much of my time as I possibly could clomping around in my daisy-patterned Wellies!

I was gifted an extraordinary set of nail polishes for Christmas, so I decided to get rid of some of my older collection. At first I was going to throw them out as they were looking pretty sad and old and separated, but then I decided to try pouring them over rocks, and I'm so glad I tried it! I created some beautiful abstract designs on stones, but even more fantastic was the drip pattern left underneath on the scrap paper I'd placed to collect the run-off varnish. I'm so excited to place these in the neighborhood kindness rock gardens!

In other news, I hand-bound a grocery sack sketch book into an old hardback book cover. I'd consider it an "A" for effort, but it's definitely a skill that I need to work on further!

I completed 21 crochet beanies and donated them a shelter in downtown Seattle. My goal is to complete another 20 hats for donation next week with Bee Happy Donation Foundation. Just hoping to help keep somebody a little bit warmer on these dreary winter days!

I'm wishing you a healthy and happy week, dear web surfer! Take care!

Well, I'm changing the website! I haven't touched this thing in over 18 months, and it certainly showed. This site was a requirement for my graphic design degree, but the show-and-tell portfolio aspect of the original design never felt authentic to me, so I'm changing things up a bit. Here you will find a collection of projects I've completed or am currently working on, or perhaps just something I'm dreaming about doing.

So, welcome, dear web surfer, welcome. If you've reached this space because I applied for employment with your company, thank you very much for searching beyond my resume. I hope you like what you see and that I'll be hearing from you soon!
